ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING!!
February 23, 2010 (Tues) ~ 7 pm
Bowman Arts Centre

We will elect new Board of Directors and review our past year.
Are any of you interested in sitting on the Executive Committee?  If you are, please contact Linda Johnson before the meeting at (403) 381-6417, or e-mail grenfell@telus.net.
We require a minimum of 3 or maximum of 6 Directors-at-Large, and an Executive body consisting of President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer.
For your information, so that we do not scare you off, Directors-at-Large does not mean you have to direct a play!  This is the name of a group of people who assist the Executives in attending to the business of Playgoers.
We welcome new faces.  If there are more people who are interested than the maximum amount allowed, we will hold a vote.  Very exciting
After the Annual Meeting and elections, we will take a short break and partake in some nibblies and greet and meet.  We will then re-sit with the new Executive of 2010 for the General Meeting to take care of new agenda items.
Please come out!

CHINOOK REGION
ONE ACT DRAMA FESTIVAL
April 30 and May 1, 2010
Sterndale Bennett Theatre

Interested in making a submission to direct a one-act play for the Festival?
As the festival is being held at the end of April, you have plenty of time to put together a production to represent Playgoers.

The rules and regulations of entries in the festival can be found on Alberta Drama Festival Association www.adfa.ca.

If you are interested, please contact Rita Peterson who is the ADFA Representative at (info@playgoers.ca) or Ed Bayly, Playgoer’s Artistic Director

A play will be selected from the entries at our regional festival to represent the Chinook Region at the Provincial One-Act Drama Festival in Whitecourt May 14 to 15, 2010.

Prospective Directors of Playgoers productions require some experience.  A good way to demonstrate your directing skills is to participate in the One Act Drama Festival each spring.

DINNER THEATRE

It is never too late to think about directing a play for our Dinner Theatre which we hope to hold at the end of October 2010.  We are looking into possible venues, and we will soon solidify the dates.
If you are interested in directing this production for Playgoers, please submit your script to Ed Bayly, who will then bring his recommendations to the Executive. (info@playgoers.ca)

PRODUCTION MANUAL

For those of you who might be interested in directing a play or taking on a production role in any play, but might be intimidated by the job that needs to be done in any role, we have a Production Manual in the Club which will assist you in tackling any one of these jobs.
The manual is held by Linda Johnson, however copies of any or all jobs can be made for your use.  Just call Linda at (403) 381-6417 or e-mail (info@playgoers.ca)

Congratulations to Eric Low (Director) and the cast and crew of Playgoers’ production of The Mousetrap. The play was very well received by the audiences. Well done.
